# Configure ID Types
## Description
This guide provides steps to create an ID type. The ID type is the name of the registrant ID and is listed in the *ID Type* dropdown in the *IDs* tab of the *Registry* configuration.
## Pre-requisites
The user must have the Program Administrator role.
## Steps
1. Click on *Configuration.*
2. Click on *ID Types*.
3. Click on *Create*.
4. A new bar appears. Enter the name and click on *Save*.
5. The new ID type gets added to the list.
